|Troy, N.Y. - Mark Williamson and Jason Kilpatrick each had two goals and two
assists to lead Drexel to a 10-7 non-conference win over Albany on Saturday
afternoon at Renssealer's Harkness Field.|
Drexel (4-3) held a 4-3 advantage in the third quarter, but then
took control with three consecutive goals. Yoni Cohen found the net off a
crossing pass, before Williamson fired in a shot from the top of the crease
42 seconds later. Cohen scored on a man-advantage to complete the outburst
with 7:55 remaining in the period.
Albany (2-4) still trailed, 8-5, midway through the fourth quarter,
when Michael Solazzo tallied his second goal of the game off a rebound. But
the Dragons, who have posted back-to-back victories for the first time this
year, answered with a pair of goals. Williamson, last year's America East
Conference rookie of the year, scored in transition, and was followed by
Kilpatrick's 10th goal of the season.
Drexel's top scorer Sean Moloney added two goals and one assist,
while Jordie Olivella stopped 19 shots in the cage. Freshman Brendan
Russell led the Great Danes with three goals and one assist. Goalkeeper
Kevin Rae made a career-high 19 saves.
