The Game Story:
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - The University of Hartford men's lacrosse team opened its America East season with a win over Albany Sunday night, 10-5, at Skidmore College's Outdoor Athletic Complex.

Hartford (4-5, 1-0) jumped out to a 5-1 lead early in the second quarter when senior Tom Fallica (Smithtown, NY) netted his first of three goals on the night. Albany, however, rallied with four goals over the next five minutes to tie the game at 5-5.

Freshman Garett Kikot (Toronto, Ontario) put his team ahead for good with 8:32 remaining in the half when he sent a low shot at Albany goalkeeper Kevin Rae. The Hawks then dominated the second half behind the play of senior goalkeeper Rorke Greene (Cape Elizabeth, ME), who made a season-high 19 saves.

The Hawks used a three-goal third quarter to pad their lead. Junior midfielder Raweras Mitchell (Akwesasne Mohawk Nation) scored his second goal of the game from the top of the crease, and freshman Matt Holman (Toronto, Ontario) connected on a drive from the left side midway through the stanza. Fallica netted his third goal with a low shot off a pass from the top by senior Chris Sauro (Syracuse, NY) with 20 second left in the period.

Senior Travis Eckler (Endicott, NY) added a pair of goals while classmate B.J. LaVoie (Nashua, NH) accounted for three assists.

Hartford will next travel to Vermont for a contest on Wednesday, April 9 at 3:30 p.m.
