|The Game Story:|
|Providence, Rhode Island - If today's men's lacrosse game between Brown and Princeton is any indication, there isn't a big difference between the top and the bottom of the Ivy League.|
Brown's frantic comeback bid came up a goal short in the last seconds as the Bears dropped a 6-5 decision to Princeton before a boisterous crowd of 2,650 at Stevenson Field. The win lifts the Tigers to a share of the Ivy League title and a 10-4 overall record, 5-1 in Ivy play. The Bears conclude their season with a 2-11 mark, 0-6 in the Ivy League.
Brown honored its nine seniors in a pre-game ceremony prior to making their last appearance at Stevenson Field. Brown's Class of 2006 includes: Rob Cotter, Grant Derkac, Ben Donoghue, James Faello, Nick Gentilesco Chris Kearney, Will McGettigan, Thomas Pitcher and Kyle Wailes.
The Bears and Tigers were tied 3-3 through three-plus quarters of play in a Titanic defensive battle. After Princeton's Bob Schneider game the Tigers a 1-0 lead after one quarter, Brown grabbed a 2-1 lead on second quarter goals by juniors Alex Buckley and David Madeira.
Princeton's Scott Sowanick tied the game, 2-2, with 11:46 left in the second quarter, but Brown senior Will McGettigan scored with 6:51 left in the quarter to lift the Bears to a 3-2 advantage. Mark Kovler's goal with just 19 seconds left in the half evened the score at 3-3.
Bears' senior goalie Nick Gentilesco was brilliant in a scoreless third quarter, making four of his 15 saves for the game to keep the Tigers off the scoreboard.

Junior Will Davis made it a one-goal game, 6-5, scoring with 2:25 remaining to play. The Bears had several possessions in the last two minutes, but couldn't convert the tying goal.
