Holy Cross jumped out to a 3-1 lead with just under five minutes to play in the first quarter. Sophomore Rob Ryan (Manhasset, N.Y.) cut the deficit to one with 29 seconds on the clock with his 10th goal of the season.

Colgate scored back-to-back goals within the first five minutes of the second quarter to take a 4-3 edge. John OíSullivan scored his third of four goals with 1:14 to play to make the score 7-5 in Colgateís favor at the break.

The Raiders posted three straight goals in the third to go up 10-5, before Holy Cross responded with one tally at the end of the period and another 32 seconds into the fourth to cut the deficit to three, 10-7. Sophomore Andy Summersgill (Moorestown, N.J.) sparked Colgateís offensive explosion when he blocked a pass attempt by Crusader goalkeeper Matt Fallon, picked up the loose ball and scored into the open net at the 13:24 mark.

Colgate also got multiple-point efforts from sophomore Brendan Hurley (West Islip, N.Y.) (three goals, one assist) and freshman Matt Lalli (Princeton Junction, N.J.) (two goals, two assists), who each bring their scoring total for the week to 10 points. Ryan finished with three goals and an assist, sophomore Jeff Hiller (Wantagh, N.Y.) added a goal and an assist, and junior Peter Whitcomb (Denver, Colo.) and freshman Trevor Marticke (Hudson, Ohio) registered their first helpers of the season.

Raider goalkeeper Andrew Jarolimek (Silverthorne, Colo.) posted seven saves on 24 Crusader shots, while Fallon registered seven saves on 32 shots. Both goalies were relieved by their backups in the fourth quarter; freshmen Andrew Bevan (Bridgewater, N.J.) and Denis Cronin (Manhasset, N.Y.) both saw time between the pipes for Colgate.
