HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Colgate menís lacrosse team scored four straight goals late in the game and withstood a late Binghamton rally to earn a 6-5 win against the Bearcats on Tuesday, Apr. 5, at Tylerís Field.

Binghamton jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. Jeff Santucci broke the scoreless tie with an unassisted goal at the 9:09 mark. Matt McNamara followed with a pair of tallies within the last five minutes of the session, including one with 90 seconds on the clock from Santucci.

Colgate got on the board just over a minute into the second quarter. Lalli fed sophomore Jeff Hiller (Wantagh, N.Y.) who slipped a shot past BU keeper Kevin McKeown. The Raiders cut the deficit to one when Lalli found sophomore Rob Ryan (Manhasset, N.Y.) at the 7:12 mark. Junior Brian Robinson (Denver, Colo.) hooked up with classmate Robert Trasolini (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) for back-to-back goals at the end of the second and beginning of the third to knot the score at four-all.

Sophomore defenseman Colin Hulme (Framingham, Mass.), who had the game-winning tally in each of Colgateís last two games, found the back of the net for the fourth consecutive contest with 6:01 to play in the third. Lalli fed Robinson with 12:43 on the clock in the fourth quarter to push the Raidersí lead to two, 6-4. With 7:06 left in regulation and BU on a man-up opportunity, Kaylor passed the ball to Stephen Smith across the crease, and Smith banged it home to make it a one-goal game. Colgate managed to keep the Bearcats at bay as the minutes ticked down to earn the win.

CU junior goalie Andrew Jarolimek (Silverthorne, Colo.) made four saves, while McKeown finished with eight. Colgate dominated at the face-off X, winning 12-of-15 draws. The Raiders also earned a 27-17 advantage on groundballs, and outshot Binghamton 26-21.
