| Boca Raton, Fla. - The fourth-ranked University of Maryland men's lacrosse team was upset by Dartmouth, 7-6, Tuesday night at St. Andrew's School in Boca Raton, Fla. The Big Green outscored the Terps 3-1 in the third quarter to erase Maryland's 3-1 halftime lead. With the score tied at 4-4 in the fourth quarter Maryland All-America midfielder Bill McGlone gave the Terps a 5-4 advantage with his lone goal of the game at the 14:14 mark. But Dartmouth answered right back with the tying goal from Brad Heritage less than two minutes later. The game remained tied at 5-5 until 5:55 when Dartmouth attackman Nick Bonacci scored his second goal of the game to give the Big Green their first lead of the night at 6-5. Dartmouth scored again at 2:22 to extend its lead to 7-5. Maryland fought back to within a goal on Xander Ritz's fourth goal of the season at 1:22. The Terps had two final chances to tie the game but Dartmouth goalie Andrew Goldstein made two saves in the final 45 seconds to preserve the win. Maryland's All-America attackman Joe Walters tallied a game-high four points on two goals and two assists in the loss. |
