Dartmouth vs. Quinnipiac

The Game Story:
HANOVER, N.H.-- Jake Dwyer netted a hat trick to lead the Dartmouth men's lacrosse team to a 7-6 victory against Quinnipiac on Wednesday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field.

Dwyer scored the eventual gamewinner at the 6:37 mark of the third quarter, fired a shot from just outside the crease that beat goaltender T.J. Barnett. Dartmouth (2-0) opened the game with a 4-0 lead on goals by Connor Price, Tom Daniels, Casey Burlage and Dwyer.

Quinnipiac (0-1) scored its first goal of the game with 43 seconds remaining in the first quarter when Jeff Speed beat Big Green goalie Mike Gault. In the second quarter the two teams traded goals as Ben Grinnell netted his team-leading fifth of the year while the Braves cut the lead to 5-2 when Mike Baglio scored with 7:30 on the clock.

Dwyer sandwiched a pair of goals around a Andy Pelletier score to make it 7-3 Dartmouth.

The fourth quarter belonged to Quinnipiac as Baglio, John Giordano and Speed all scored.

Gault finished the game with 17 saves for the Big Green while Barnett stopped 12 shots in the Braves cage. Dartmouth is back in action on Wednesday, March 13 when it hosts Albany at 2:30 pm.
