Drexel vs. Yale

The Game Story:
Philadelphia, Pa. (March 3, 2002)--Edward Britt and Scott Kenworthy each scored four times and Mike Scaglione added a pair of goals and four assists as Yale defeated Drexel at Franklin Field, 16-7. Drexel opened the scoring when Paul Tuohey found the net, but the Bulldogs scored the next four goals and did not trail again.

Drexel cut the lead to 4-3 with a pair of goals early in the second quarter. Yoni Cohen had an unassisted goal at the 13:35 mark and four minutes later Mark Williamson scored on a feed from Sean Maloney. Yale scored the next two goals before Joe Fiore put one by the Yale keeper to make it a 6-4 game. Yale responded by scoring four of the next five goals to take a 10-5 lead at halftime.

The Bulldogs controlled the second half and put the game away. Yale scored six-straight goals to open the second half. The Dragons were held scoreless until the five-minute mark of the final period when Fiore scored his second goal of the game. Pat Friel added a late goal for Drexel to make the final score 16-7. Yale outshot the Dragons 41-29. The Bulldogs were 4-for-5 in man-up situations, while Drexel managed three extra-man goals on seven attempts. The Dragons are off until Saturday, March 9, when they visit Villanova.
