Duke vs. Georgetown

The Game Story:
Senior Steve Dusseau scored five goals including two in the fourth quarter as seventh-ranked Georgetown defeated fifth-ranked Duke, 9-7, in collegiate men's lacrosse action on Sunday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium in Durham, N.C. The Hoyas improve to 5-0 while the Blue Devils fall to 3-3 on the year.

Duke went on top 1-0 just 36 seconds into the game when Kevin Brennan scored the first of his four goals on the afternoon. After Dusseau tied the game at the 10:49 mark, Brennan and Matt Rewkowski tallied back-to-back goals for a 3-1 Blue Devil advantage. Dusseau's unassisted goal less with then two minutes to play in the period closed the margin to one goal.

Georgetown then held Duke scoreless in the second quarter and Trevor Walker scored a pair of unassisted goals in the final six minutes and the Hoyas took a 4-3 lead into intermission. In the third quarter, Brennan and Terrence Keaney sandwiched goals around a Dusseau unassisted tally and the teams were tied, 5-5, heading into the final period.

Dusseau scored twice early in the final quarter to give Georgetown the lead for good. The Hoyas pushed their advantage to 9-5 on goals by Walid Hajj and Neal Goldman. Duke scored twice in the final minute to account for the final margin.

Dusseau finished with five goals and one assist on the day while Walker added two goals and one assist. For Duke, Brennan matched his career-high with four goals while Rewkowski contributed one goal and two assists. Duke's Kevin Cassese won nine-of-10 face-offs, collected seven ground balls and dished out one assist.

Georgetown goalkeeper Scott Schroeder was credited with 16 saves while Duke's A.J. Kincel made nine saves. Duke remains at home to host 20th-ranked Harvard on Saturday, March 30 at 1:00 while the Hoyas host 14th-ranked Navy on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
