|Fairfield, CT: The fifteenth ranked Nittany Lions of Penn State
University scored three straight goals on their first three shots of
the game, jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead and didn't look back as
they defeated the Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse team, 14-6
today in non-conference action.
Will Driscoll, Tim Emmick, and Charlie Perry each had three-goal
games to lead Penn State in scoring, while Chris Garrity was sharp
when needed between the pipes making nine saves.
Fairfield was lead in scoring by Rob Scipioni's goal and two assists,
and Matt Buecker's two goals. CJ Kemp made eight saves before
being relieved in the fourth quarter by rookie Cory Gibbons.
The loss drops Fairfield to 1-1 overall, while improving Penn State
to 2-0. The Stags return to action next Sunday when they host
Brown for a 2 pm start.
