|The Game Story:|
|Washington, D.C. - Junior Trevor Casey (Bethesda, Md./Georgetown Prep) and sophomore Andrew Baird (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) scored three goals apiece and fifth-ranked Georgetown scored 12 first half goals in the first half, en route to a 17-7 non-league men's lacrosse win over Mount St. Mary's at the Multi-Sport Field on the Hilltop Tuesday afternoon.|
It was the sixth-straight win for the Hoyas, who improve to 6-1 overall. The six-game win streak is the longest for a Georgetown team since 2003, when the Hoyas won eight in a row to start the season. Georgetown is ranked No. 5 in the country by both Inside Lacrosse and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association polls.
Leading 5-2 after the first period, the Hoyas took control of the game with a seven-goal second period. Mount St. Mary's scored the first goal of the period on a shot from Matt Warner, but Georgetown responded in dominant fashion, scoring four goals in a span of 1:43. After the Mountaineers pulled to within 9-4, the Hoyas tallied three more in a span of 2:10 to take a 12-5 lead at the break.
Leading 5-3, senior Pete Cannon (Haverford, Pa./The Haverford School) got things going with an unassisted goal at 7:06.
