Hartford vs. Albany

The Game Story:
WEST HARTFORD, CT - The University of Hartford lacrosse team dropped its America East opener to 17th-ranked University at Albany, 20-9, Saturday afternoon at Al-Marzook Field.

Albany's Frank Resetarits led all scorers with four goals and added a pair of assists while Eric Wolf and Corey Small each recorded hat tricks. Wolf also finished with a game-high five assists. Goalkeeper Brett Queener picked up his fourth win of the season and made six saves in 30 minutes.

The loss dropped Hartford to 2-5 overall and 0-1 in the America East. Albany improved to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

Hartford senior Josh Wasson-McQuigge and junior Tom Harris also recorded hat tricks. Freshman Jon McMahon got the starting nod in goal and finished with four saves while allowing 17 goals.

Albany never trailed and scored the first six goals of the contest, each by a different player. Hartford finally got on the board in the second quarter when Harris took a feed from freshman Daniel Clough for the score. Senior Tim Chisholm and Wasson-McQuigge added goals later in the quarter as Hartford trailed 10-3 at halftime.

After Harris opened the third quarter with his second goal of the day, Albany scored the next four to go up by double digits at 14-4. The Hawks would only get as close as eight in the fourth quarter as the Great Danes outscored them 6-4 in the stanza.

Hartford next plays at Yale University on Tuesday, March 28 at 7 p.m.
