The Game Story:
WEST HARTFORD, CT (April 21) – The University of Hartford lacrosse team dropped a 21-13 decision to Albany Wednesday night at Al-Marzook Field.

Hartford dropped to 0-12 overall and 0-5 in the America East. Albany improved to 8-3 overall and 4-1in the conference.

Albany’s Merrick Thomson had a monster game, scoring eight goals and adding three assists to lead all scorers. Frank Resetarits chipped in with three goals and an assist and Chris Martocchia and Michael Solazzo each netted a pair of goals. Hartford sophomore Garett Kikot led the Hawks with five goals and an assist.

The Great Danes jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first six minutes of the game. Hartford answered with a pair of goals to cut the deficit to one, and the two teams went back and forth for the rest of the half. Albany held an 8-6 lead at intermission. Kikot scored 13 seconds into the second half to bring Hartford to within one, but it would be as close as the Hawks would get. After increasing its lead to 11-9, Albany reeled off seven straight goals to pull ahead for good.

Albany goalkeeper Kevin Rae left the game with 9:08 remaining in favor of Chris Gill. Rae allowed nine goals against 17 shots and made eight saves. Gill faced nine shots and made three saves while allowing four goals.

Hartford goalkeeper Jordan Karem played all but 8:35 and allowed 18 goals against 41 shots while making 12 saves. Freshman goalie Franklin Pargh made one save and allowed three goals against six shots.

Hartford will next play at Quinnipiac on Saturday, April 24 at 1 p.m.
