The Game Story:
WEST HARTFORD, CT - The University of Hartford lacrosse team dropped a 13-3 decision to Brown University on Wednesday afternoon at Al-Marzook Field.

Brown's David Medeira led all scorers with four goals as the Bears (1-2) picked up their first win of the season. Brown outshot Hartford 41-20 for the game and held a 34-31 edge in ground balls. The Hawks dropped to 2-2 on the season.

Hartford scored the game's first goal to take an early lead, as freshman Daniel Clough took a feed from senior Matt Holman to deposit his fifth goal of the season. Brown, however, countered with seven straight goals over the course of the first half, including three from Medeira. The Bears looked like they would take the six-goal lead into the break, but senior Josh Wasson-McQuigge scored right before the halftime horn to make it 7-2.

Brown controlled play in the second half and limited Hartford to just seven shots. The Bears scored the first three goals of the half, including a pair by Kyle Wailes (three goals, one assist). Holman picked up his sixth goal of the season late in the third quarter off an assist from Wasson-McQuigge, though Hartford still trailed 10-3.

Freshman Jon McMahon played all 60 minutes in net for the Hawks and made 13 saves against 41 shots. Brown's Nick Gentilesco played all but the final three minutes in goal and finished with 11 saves.

Hartford next play at Hobart College on Saturday, March 11 at 1 p.m.
