| WEST HARTFORD, CT - The University of Hartford lacrosse team defeated Holy Cross in its home opener on Saturday afternoon by an 11-3 final at Al-Marzook Field. Hartford improved to 2-1 overall while Holy Cross dropped to 0-2. Senior Matt Holman outscored the Crusaders by himself, leading the Hawks with four goals and one assist on the day. Classmates Brandon Herbst and Josh Wasson-McQuigge each added a pair of scores while Andrew Rohmer notched three assists. Freshman Jon McMahon played the entire game in goal for the Hawks and finished with 10 saves. Holy Cross' Matt Fallon made 12 stops in goal for the Crusaders. Hartford outshot Holy Cross by a 26-15 margin and won 16 of the 19 faceoffs. Hartford will next host Brown on Wednesday, March 8 at 3:30 p.m. at Al-Marzook Field. |
