|West Hartford, CT - Senior Tyler Francey scored six goals and added an assist as the
University of Hartford men's lacrosse team improved to 4-4 on the season with a 16-9 win over
Providence College on Tuesday afternoon. The Friars fall to 6-3 on the season with the loss.
Providence scored the first goal of the game with 10:22 left in the first period. The Hawks
responded with six consecutive goals including three in the next :58 seconds. Hartford goalkeeper
Rorke Greene made several key stops for the Hawks in the half. Providence cut the lead to four,
6-2, with :30 seconds left in the half. The Friars scored the first two goals of the second half to
get within two, but Hartford responded with seven straight goals to take their largest lead of the
game at 13-4.
Hartford was led by Francey who had six goals and an assist in the win. Teammate Tom Fallica
had two goals and two assists and Kevin Garvey added two goals. Senior Brian LaMastro had a
goal and three assists. Providence was led by Kyle Ojakian who had two goals and four assists.
John Meehan added two goals for the Friars.
Hartford will be in action again on Saturday, April 6 at 7 p.m. when they host Vermont in an
America East contest in West Hartford.
