The Game Story:
WEST HARTFORD, CT - The University of Hartford lacrosse team downed Siena College 19-6 Tuesday night at Al-Marzook Field to run its winning streak to five games.

Hartford improved to 7-5 overall while Siena dropped to 1-8. Senior attack Travis Eckler (Endicott, NY) and freshman midfielder Garett Kikot (Toronto, Ontario) each netted five goals for the Hawks. Eckler also recorded four assists while Kikot had one. Senior B.J. LaVoie (Nahua, NH) also had a season-high four goals and freshman Raweras Mitchell (Akwesasne Mohawk Nation) had two.

Hartford got on the board less than a minute in on Eckler's first goal of the night. Siena, however, answered with a pair of scores from Matt Walsh to take the 2-1 lead. LaVoie then tied the game up at the 11:13 mark and Mitchell gave the Hawks the lead for good with his first score with 9:31 to go in the opening quarter.

Hartford outscored Siena 5-3 in the first quarter and 8-2 in the second quarter to lead 13-5 at the half. Senior goalkeeper Rorke Greene (Cape Elizabeth, ME) made just one save in the half and didn't play after the intermission. Sophomore Jordan Karem (Potomac, MD) played the third quarter and made two saves without allowing a goal, and freshman Adam Alpren (Long Beach, NY) played the final 15 minutes and made two saves while allowing a goal.

Siena's John Bamford played the entire game in goal and made 12 saves against 46 Hartford shots. The Hawks also held the advantage in ground balls by a 41-25 margin.

Hartford will next travel to Binghamton to face the Bearcats on Saturday, April 19 at noon. The Hawks sit atop the America East standings with a 3-0 record with two conference games to play.
