Johns Hopkins vs. Syracuse
March 17, 2012
The Game Story:
BALTIMORE – Sophomore Derek Maltz registered his second hat trick in the last three games, but No. 2 Johns Hopkins went on to defeat No. 6 Syracuse, 11-7, Saturday March 17 at Homewood Field.

Maltz tallied three of the Orange’s four goals in the first half to increase his team-leading total to 12 on the year.

The loss snapped Syracuse’s five-game winning streak against the Blue Jays. Prior to Saturday, the last time Hopkins beat the Orange was exactly five years ago when the Blue Jays posted a 17-9 decision at the Carrier Dome on March 17, 2007.
