Lafayette vs. Colgate

The Game Story:
EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's lacrosse team took an early lead, but couldn't hang on and lost 13-7 to Colgate on a rain-soaked Saturday afternoon at Rappolt Field.

The Leopards outscored the Raiders at the start to take a 3-2 lead after the first quarter. Robert McLean, Andrew Forbes and Pat Lennon each tallied a goal for Lafayette, while Luke Ryan added an assist.

Colgate then exploded for six goals in the second quarter to take an 8-5 halftime lead. Jason Vasas netted three goals and Robert Trasolini added two goals and one assist to spark the Raider burst.

Matt Prevost scored an unassisted goal at the start of the third period to cut the lead to 8-6, but Colgate answered with goals by Reid Diamond and Peter Watts to push the score back to 10-6.

Colgate added three more goals in the fourth, while Ryan tickled the twine for the first time this season for the Leopards.

Three different Leopards had multi-point games with Lennon leading the way with two goals to boost his season total to 19. Drew Weisman registered two assists, while Ryan finished with one point and one assist. Michael Koch made 16 saves in goal for the Leopards, while Andrew Jarolimek stopped nine shots for the Raiders.

Lafayette (1-6, 0-2) will play at Bucknell on Saturday at 1 p.m.
