MLAX Falls 14-4 at Rain-Soaked Stony Brook
Blackburn leads Leopards with two first-half goals.

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Stony Brook
jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first quarter and an 11-2 halftime
margin to hand Lafayette a 14-4 road loss in men's lacrosse
action on Wednesday .
Six different Seawolves found the net for Stony Brook in the
opening quarter before Ted Blackburn got the Leopards on the
scoreboard with 30 seconds remaining. Blackburn's first goal of
the season came on a Mike Fiorillo assist.
In the second quarter Stony Brook built its lead to 10-1 with four
goals in the first 12 minutes. Blackburn struck again for the
Leoaprds with 1:43 left in the half, reeling in a pass from D.J.
Krueger for Lafayette's second goal of the game.
The Leopards held their own in the final two quarters, outscored
just 3-2. Pat Lennon connected for his third goal of the season
with 9:21 left in the third. Tim Derosier added an unassisted tally
in the fourth quarter to put the final at 14-4.
Lafayette (0-4) returns to action on Saturday when the Leopards
host VMI at 3 p.m. |
