Marist vs. Hartford

The Game Story:
Springfield, MA-The Marist College men's lacrosse team fell to the University of Hartford Hawks, 6-5, this afternoon at Springfield College. The Red Foxes drop their third straight, starting the season 0-3.

Marist scored a goal in each of the first two quarters before Hartford scored four unanswered goals. Andrew Walsh (Liverpool, NY) netted his first goal of the game at 14:43 with Sean Sweeney (Farmingdale, NY) recording the assist. Junior Jay Nahama (Hampton, NJ) scored at 9:58 of the second as Brian Diele (Stewart Manor, NY) got the assist.

The Hawks came back in the second and third quarters, going up 4-2 before Billy Duer (Manasquan, NJ) netted his unassisted goal at 12:44. Walsh scored his second of the game at 10:06, tying the game. Tim Iuculano (Silver Spring, MD) recorded the assist.

Hartford's Travis Eckler scored two more goals for the Hawks, which proved to be enough for the win, despite a goal by Diele with 3:05 left and Bill Dziedic (Southington, Conn.) earning the assist.

The Red Foxes return to action Saturday, March 8th when they travel to Emmitsburg, MD to take on Mount St. Mary's in a 2:00 p.m. match-up.
