The Game Story:
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The second-seeded Marist men's lacrosse team (6-8, 3-3 MAAC) defeated No. 3 Detroit in a thrilling game in the semi-finals of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament, 11-9. Junior Drew Nesmith (Montclair, N.J.) and sophomore Joseph Radin (Long Beach, N.Y.) each netted a hat trick and added one assist in the victory. Junior goalkeeper Dave Scarcello (Buffalo, N.Y.) had a phenomenal game in goal for the Red Foxes, stopping 15 shots. Freshman J.D. Recor (Lancaster, N.Y.) scored two goals, including the game-winner, and dished out one assist for a total three points. Juniors Colin Joka (Conshohocken, Pa.), Mike Begley (Brookeville, Md.), and freshman Connor O'Neill (Sayville, N.Y.) added one goal apiece. Joka and O'Neill also passed out one helper each. Sophomore Dominic Montemurro (Kings Park, N.Y.) won the battle at the X, victorious in 14-of-23 face-offs. Radin collected a game-high five ground balls while senior Gannon Osborn (Canandaigua, N.Y.) picked up four.
