The Game Story:
Emmitsburg, Md. - Bucknell (2-4) scored the only two goals of the second half to hand the Mount St. Mary's (1-6/1-0) men's lacrosse team a 5-3 defeat in front of a hardy crowd of 178 at Alumni Field in Emmitsburg, Md. Mount junior attackman Josh Warfield (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) got the Mount on the board first with his 10th goal of the season off a short pass from defenseman Sean Mahon (Medford, N.J./St. Joseph's Prep) who had a length of the field clear before dumping the ball off to the Warfield at the edge of the crease.

Senior midfielder Mark Cox (Parkton, Md./Hereford) scored his eighth goal of the season with under two minutes left in the half when he threw home a pass from sophomore Jay Duffy while being thrown to the ground. The Mount picked up an extra man opportunity on the play and converted with a goal from freshman Billy Jautze (Setawket, N.Y./Ward Melville) with 57 second left in the opening period. Both teams converted on one of six extra man opportunities for the game.

A defensive oriented contest, both goalkeepers stepped up and kept their teams in the game. The defending Patriot League champions dominated possession of the ball winning 10-of-12 faceoffs and digging up 41 ground balls to the Mount's 28.
