|The Game Story:|
|The Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse team held off a late Siena rally for
a 16-15 victory at Alumni Field on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Eric
Seifert (Dover, Del./Caeser Rodney) tallied four goals in the game in
helping lead the Mount to its first win of the season.
The Mount (1-4, 1-2 MAAC) jumped on top early, scoring four of the first five goals in the game. Werner's goal gave the Mount a commanding 8-3 lead after one quarter.
Matthew Walsh cut the Mount deficit to 9-6 with one of his four goals in the game with 9:13 left in the first half, but Seifert gave the Mount a 10-6 advantage at the half when he converted a Billy Jautze (Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) pass.
Seifert and senior Jay Duffy (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) scored back-to-back goals to give the Mount a 12-6 advantage midway through the third quarter before the Saints rallied.
