| COLUMBUS, Ohio - Senior Curtis Smith posted seven goals and nine points to lead the Ohio State men's lacrosse team to a 17-5 neutral-site victory over Quinnipiac Saturday at UMBC Stadium in Baltimore.
The Buckeyes dominated the game, scoring five goals in each of the first two quarters to go into halftime with a 10-2 lead. OSU then tallied four goals in the third and three in the fourth, while allowing one and two goals, respectively, for the 17-5 final. Anthony Gilardi was second for OSU with a goal and two assists for three points. Freshman Craig Nolan and senior Anthony Kelly each chipped in a goal and an assist, while Lance Vitt had two scores. In net, Tony Russo made nine saves while allowing three goals. Jon Miller closed out the game, stopping five shots and allowing two goals. The Buckeyes return to action at 3 p.m. Wednesday when they play host to North Carolina in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. |
