|COLUMBUS, Ohio - Behind a two-goal, four-assist performance from Anthony
Gilardi (So., Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin), the No. 16 Ohio State men's lacrosse team
rallied to defeat Quinnipiac Saturday at Johns Hopkins University's Homewood Field
in Baltimore, Md.
The Buckeyes (2-2) trailed through much of the hard-fought game but rallied to tie
the score at eight after three quarters. Curtis Smith (Jr., Victoria, British
Columbia/Oak Bay) put the Buckeyes ahead for the first time with a goal at the 12:00
mark of the final stanza, and OSU held the lead the rest of the way.
Smith added to his team-leading goal total, as he scored two to push his season total
to 12. Pat Myers (Jr., Kennebunk, Maine/Kennebunk) added two goals and an assist,
while Pat Donohue (Jr., West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) also scored two goals.
Mike Norton (Jr., Timonium, Md./Calvert Hall) and Tom Randisi (Fr., Towson,
Md./Calvert Hall) each added a goal, while Josh Lesko (So., Annapolis,
Md./Annapolis) and Shaun Lyons (So., Hicksville, N.Y./Hicksville) each notched an
Quinnipiac falls to 0-2 with the defeat. The Buckeyes return to action Sunday, March
17, at noon, playing host to Drexel at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
