Eddie Morley scored three goals and Jimmy Montana netted two, but the Quinnipiac men's lacrosse team dropped a 15-6 decision to the Dartmouth Big Green on Tuesday afternoon in Hamden, Conn. The loss drops the Bobcats record to 1-4 this season, while the Big Green improves to 4-1.

Dartmouth opened the game with two straight goals, one by Ben Grinnell and the other by Matt Heineman to take the early advantage. Quinnipiac responded late in the first quarter to get within one. Andy Pelletier fired a shot past Dartmouth goalie Andrew Goldstein to make it 2-1 with 1:49 remaining in the first.

The Big Green extended their lead by scoring the game's only three goals in the second frame. Jamie Coffin, Brad Heritage and Alec Hufnagel all netted goals for Dartmouth to make the score 5-1 at halftime.

Dartmouth began the third quarter by scoring three straight goals, two by Coffin and one by Grinnell, to take an 8-1 lead at the 8:05 mark. Quinnipiac broke the scoring streak on the first of Morley's three goals on the day. The tally was assisted by Eric Trama and made the score 8-2, Dartmouth with 5:57 to play in the third. The Big Green scored three of the quarter's final four goals to take an 11-3 lead into the final frame.

In the fourth, the Big Green scored three consecutive goals to increase their lead to 14-3 with 10:38 remaining in the game. Quinnipiac didn't quit and scored three of the game's final four goals. Morley started the run by scoring his second goal of the game off an assist from Chris Griffin. Montana netted his second tally of the game off a feed from Pelletier to make the score 14-5 with 2:44 remaining. After a Dartmouth goal, Morley capped off his hat trick with an unassisted tally.

Quinnipiac goalie Joe Prota stopped nine shots in the contest, with Goldstein made 10 saves for the Big Green.

The Bobcats will be back in action when they host the Albany Great Danes on Saturday, March 27, at 1:00 p.m.
