April 25, 2007
The Game Story:
Despite a 16-save effort from freshman Jamie Prudden (Andover, Mass.) that matched a career-high, the Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team was defeated by Holy Cross on Wednesday afternoon in non-league action, 11-5. The Bobcats are now 6-6 on the year heading into their regular season finale against Notre Dame on May 5.r>

The Bobcats got out to a quick start and held a 3-1 lead after the opening quarter.

Mike Stottler (Wantagh, N.Y.) opened the scoring just 3:08 into the game off a pass from Tucker Prudden (Andover, Mass.). Prudden then netted one of his own just 2:09 later, a goal that was assisted by Chris Griffin (Long Beach, N.Y.).

After a Holy Cross tally cut the Quinnipiac lead in half, the Bobcats restored the two-goal cushion in the closing seconds of the opening frame. Mike Annunziata (Mahopac, N.Y.) fed Prudden for his second of the day to make it 3-1.

The Crusaders responded by scoring the next seven goals of the game. Holy Cross scored the only three goals to the second quarter to carry a 4-3 lead into halftime. The visitors then scored all four goals registered in the third quarter to take a commanding 8-3 lead into the final stanza.

The Bobcats scored the first goal of the fourth quarter, as Stottler scored off an assist from Sean Endicott (Malden, Mass.).

However, Holy Cross scored the next three goals before Alex Marotto (South Windsor, Conn.) netted a goal for Quinnipiac that closed the scoring for the day.
