Binghamton Captures 9-5 Victory Over Men's Lacrosse

Bearcats Use Four Final Period Goals to Take Non-Conference Win

Binghamton scored four goals in the final quarter to capture a 9-5 victory over Siena College in non-conference men's lacrosse action this afternoon in Loudonville, N.Y. With the loss the Saints drop to 1-12 on the season while the Bearcats improve to 4-8 overall.

Tom Nally netted a goal for the Saints while Phil Cavallo tallied one for the Bearcats as the two teams entered the second period in a 1-1 tie. Each team again managed only one more goal in the second period for a 2-2 score at the half.

Nearly five minutes went by in the third, before Cavallo put away three straight goals to give Binghamton a 5-2 advantage. The Saints answered back with two goals of their own, courtesy of brothers Dan and Paul Wolpert to cut the Bearcat lead to just one to go into the final period. Binghamton scored four goals in the fourth while Siena only managed to find the back of the net once and the Bearcats captured the 9-5 victory.

Jeff Serge led Siena scoring two goals. Phil Cavallo had four goals and two assists for the Bearcats.

Keeper John Bamford made 12 saves for the Saints while Binghamton goalie Kevin McKeown had 16 stops.
