|PHILADELPHIA - A furious fourth quarter rally by Saint Joseph's
(4-7, 3-2 MAAC) fell just short as Canisius (4-4, 4-0 MAAC) held on for a
13-12 victory over the Hawks in a key Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
men's lacrosse game on Finnesey Field. Brian Mullan and Mike Pagliaro each

The Griffins jumped out to an early lead scoring less than four minutes into the first quater, but SJU rallied behind a pair of goals by Mullan to lead at the break 3-2.
Canisius then erupted outscoring SJU 4-1 in the second quarter to take the lead at intermission, 6-4. Steve Muskopf netted two goals for the Griffs during the period.
CC extended its lead in the third quarter, netting five tallies to just three for SJU and led entering the final frame, 11-7.
Opening the final quarter with a burst, SJU got goals from Kevin McGrann, Mullan and Pagliaro to claw with in a goal at 11-10 with 9:08 left.
Canisius' Chris Tocin sandwiched a pair of goals, including the game-winner with 4:49 remaining, around a netter by Andrew Four to help keep the Hawks at bay. Wilkinson scored in the waning second to get the Crimson and Gray back within a goal, but it was too late.
Mullan and Pagliaro each finished with three goals and two assists for the Hawks. Kevin Ross scored five goals for Canisius, Tocin added four and Muskopf netted three.
Travis McDonnell made 14 saves for SJU, while Thomas Kucharczak made 11 stops for Canisius.
