The Game Story:
Stony Brook, N.Y. - Brendan Callahan made a career-high 18 saves and George LaFlare tallied two goals and two assists to lead the Stony Brook men's lacrosse team to a 7-3 victory over Air Force on Wednesday evening at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. The Seawolves won their third straight game to even their record at 3-3, while the Falcons fell to 2-4.

Stony Brook took a 1-0 lead as Matthew O'Connor scored with just two seconds remaining in the first quarter. The Seawolves extended their lead to 2-0 with 11:47 to play in the half on a tally by Adam Marksberry off a feed from LaFlare. Air Force responded with a goal by Dave Brown at the 7:52 mark before LaFlare added a man-up goal with just under five minutes to play and stretch the lead to 3-1 at the half.

Air Force struck first in the second half with a goal by Justin Kuchta at the 12:47 mark before Jason Cappadoro scored the first of three consecutive Seawolves goals to take a 6-2 advantage with 2:31 left in the third period.

The Falcons' Michael Colosimo cut the lead to 6-3 at the 13:29 mark, but Callahan shut Air Force out the rest of the way, making seven saves in the quarter. Adam Zetzer finished the Seawolves scoring with an unassisted goal with 5:43 to play.

Cappadoro and Marksberry each had one goal and one assist, while Kyle Pearl picked up seven ground balls and added an assist for the Seawolves.

Callahan entered the game ranked first in the nation in save percentage (.687) and second in goals against average (6.05) and earned his third straight win, besting his previous career high in saves set against Cornell on March 13.

Air Force goalie Justin Pavoni turned away 12 shots and recorded a team-high seven ground balls.

The Seawolves are back in action at LaValle Stadium on Saturday, March 27, when they open up America East play versus Vermont at 1 p.m.
