| TOWSON, Md. - - Senior attackman Ryan Obloj scored three goals and added three
assists to lead Towson University to an 18-6 victory over Sacred Heart University in the
Colonial Athletic Association league opener for both teams Saturday afternoon.
The win improved the Tigers^Ò record to 1-1 on the year while the Pioneers dropped
to 0-2.
Towson jumped off to a 5-0 lead on goals by five different players before the
Pioneers could score. The Tigers rattled off another four goals for a 9-1 lead and
eventually led 13-2 by halftime. Eight different Tigers scored in the first half with Obloj
hitting the nets twice.
The Pioneers played the Tigers a lot tougher in the second half but the damage had
been done. Towson^Òs largest lead was by 12 goals (16-4) midway in the fourth period.
Junior midfielder Drew Pfarr, who sat out Towson^Òs season opener against Rutgers
with a broken thumb, returned to the lineup and tallied three goals. Brad Monaco, Kenny
Lynch and Todd Spear each had two goals for Towson. Senior attackman Erick Perez paced the
Pioneers with two goals and one assist. Towson keeper Reed Sothoron made 11 saves in 49
minutes of work. Thomas Hind had 13 stops for the Pioneers.
It was a penalty marred game. Sacred Heart was whistled for 17 penalties and spent
16:00 in the box. Towson had 13 penalties for 11:30. The combined 30 penalties ties a
