|Bethlehem, Pa. - Villanova men's lacrosse headed to Lehigh University for a
non-conference battle on March 1. The Wildcats remain hot to start the season as they
handed the Mountain Hawks a tough loss, 11-4. With the win Villanova improves its record
to 2-0 overall.
Villanova jumped out to a commanding lead with the first six goals of the game and never
looked back. Marc Creegan paced the 'Cats with three goals and one assist. Also
contributing solid efforts were Dave Cacciabeve with two goals, Brian Marks with one goal
and two assists, and Owen Corso who tallied six ground balls in a strong effort defensively.
Lehigh's scoring was by committee as all four goals came from four players; Andrew Lucas,
Tony Lowe, Connor McCarthy, and Kurt Gerry.
Next up for the Wildcats is a trip to Franklin Field in Philadelphia to take on the Dragons of
Drexel. The game against Drexel will mark the start of Colonial Athletic Association play for
Villanova as they try to remain undefeated. That game is scheduled for Friday, March 7 at
