The Game Story:
VILLANOVA, PA. - Richie Kratz and Matt Lucas each finished with four points to lead Villanova to a 10-6 defeat of Binghamton on Saturday at Villanova Stadium, keeping the Wildcats a perfect 4-0 at home this season.

After a slow start to the game, Lucas and Kratz jump-started the scoring, with Kratz feeding Lucas for a goal at 4:45 before Lucas scored unassisted at the end of the first quarter. Kratz scored the Wildcats' next goal at 7:55 of the second to give the team a 3-0 lead.

Binghamton stormed back behind two goals from Phil Cavallo and another by Rob Williams tied the score at 3-3 with 37 seconds to play until halftime. Lucas tallied his third of the afternoon just seven seconds later to give Villanova a 4-3 halftime cushion.

Brendan O'Donnell put the Wildcats ahead 6-3 with two quick goals at the start of the third quarter, off assists from Matt Starker and Kratz. Kratz then managed his second goal of the game off a feed from Marc Creegan to make the score 7-3 with 9:28 to go in the third quarter.

The two teams traded goals the rest of the way with Binghamton (1-3) never getting closer than three.

Villanova goalie Joseph Canuso registered 13 saves, while Binghamton's Kevin McKeown also managed 13 saves.

This game marks the fifth time in six games that the Wildcat defense has held its opponent to six goals or less.

Villanova (5-1) returns to action on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's.
