April 29, 2006
The Game Story:
Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College men's lacrosse team was defeated today at Wagner College Stadium, falling to the Saints of Siena College, 13-6 in the final game of the season. The Green & White finish at 0-7 in the MAAC and 0-15 overall.

The Saints jumped out to a quick 3-0 advantage with 9:10 left the first quarter of play until Seahawks' sophomore midfielder Anthony Camacho (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) put the home team within two goals with an unassisted goal almost two minutes later.

However, the Green & White would only see one more score in the first half, which would come when freshman Jeff Policicchio (Novi, MI/Novi) found junior Josh Hamilton (Millersville, MD/Severna Park) for a goal with 11:09 left. At the break, Wagner found themselves trailing, 7-2.

In second half action, the Seahawks would find two goals from senior midfielder Tom Marchetti (Washington, DC/Gonzaga) and a goal apiece from Jeff Policicchio and freshman Michael Schaeffer (Weston, CT/Weston), who scored for the first time in his career.

But, the rest of the contest would be without a comeback from the Green & White as they surrendered six goals to the Saints in the second half, losing a final of 13-6 despite winning the battle of ground balls 31-29 and tying in face-offs 11-11.
