Yale vs. Albany
April 9, 2003
The Game Story:
NEW HAVEN, Conn. Sophomore Seth Goldberg (Fayetteville, NY) scored a career-high four goals to go along with three assists as the Yale men's lacrosse team defeated Albany 13-11 at Johnson Field.

Yale middie Scott Kenworthy (Glenwood, MD) and captain Mike Scaglione (Huntington, NY), an attacker, each had three goals despite their team being outshot by Albany 40-39.

The Bulldogs (7-2), who led 7-3 and had the edge in shots at intermission, 28-13, were outshot over the last 30 minutes 27-11. That helped the Great Danes (4-5) erase the five-goal deficit and come as close as two goals in the fourth quarter.

Goldberg's first two goals consecutive scores assisted by freshman Dan Brillman (Bryn Mawr, PA) bumped the Yale lead up to 6-2 in the second quarter. That was also part of a six-goal Bulldog surge that overcame an early 2-1 deficit.

Roy Skeen (Baltimore, MD) earned the win in goal for Yale by stopping 15 shots including five in the second frame. The number of shots he faced was reduced tremendously by the play of Bulldog faceoff specialist Dan Kallaugher (Glyndon, MD), who won 18 of 26 draws and scooped up a season-high 18 ground balls.

Mike Solazzo and Chris Driscoll led the visitors with three goals and one assist, while Albany goalie Kevin Rae made 13 saves.
