The Game Story:
New Haven, CT - The 20th ranked Brown men's lacrosse team opened its Ivy League season with a 9-8 victory over Yale, holding off a late Eli rally, in the Ivy matchup played in a driving rain storm in New Haven. The Bears are now 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the Ivy League.

Brown's lead was as big as 9-4 with 7:28 remaining in the fourth quarter before Yale reeled off four straight goals to pull within one with 1:07 left. Brown won the ensuing faceoff and did not lose possession until 28 seconds remained with the ball deep in the Yale end. Brown freshman Ryan Culligan picked-off a Yale pass at midfield with 22 seconds remaining, clinching the victory for the Bears. Brown led 6-4 at half, And Thompson scored the only goal of the third quarter. The Bears scored first two of the fourth to build a five goal lead on goals by senior Mike Albarelli and senior Jimmy Mormile.

Junior Jon Thompson led the Brown scoring with three goals and two assists, while Mormile added two goals for the Bears.Sophomore goalie Mike Levin was brilliant in goal, making 14 saves.

The Bears will return to action on Saturday, April 6th against unbeaten Georgetown in Washington, DC.
