| The Game Story: | |||||
| NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Nick Bonacci (Crofton, Md.) and sophomore Brian Koch (Rye, N.Y.) both scored three goals for Dartmouth men's lacrosse, but it wasn't enough as Yale took the win, 15-12, on Wednesday. The two teams played evenly after halftime -- both scored four goals apiece -- but the Bulldogs' 11-8 lead at the break was the difference. The Big Green lost its third straight game to go to 4-6 overall, 1-3 Ivy, while Yale improved to 6-5 overall, 1-4 Ivy. Bonacci scored Dartmouth's first two goals of the game -- sandwiching his around one by Yale's Nick Tsouris -- and a Jonathan Livadas' (Wilmington, Del.) score gave the Big Green a 5-4 lead with 6:07 remaining in the first quarter. Yale regained the momentum after that and built an 11-7 advantage with 3:31 left in the second period when Kyle Washabaugh connected on a man-up opportunity. Bonacci and Koch each added an assist for four points on the afternoon, while freshman Ari Sussman (New Haven, Conn.) had two goals and two assists. Dartmouth outshot the Bulldogs, 46-29. Yale goalie George Carafides made 12 saves on the day, while Big Green freshman Michael Novosel (Somers, N.Y.) had five. Dartmouth travels to No. 3 Virginia on Saturday, April 21, for a 1 p.m. game. |
