Saint John's vs. Lafayette
April 2, 2005
The Game Story:
April 2, 2005, Queens, NY -- Lafayette's Bart Seifert slipped a one-timer by St. John's goalie Dave Saccente (Lake Grove, NY/Sachem) with 55 seconds to play to give the Leopards (1-8) a 5-4 win at DaSilva Memorial Field this afternoon. The win was the first of the season for Lafayette while St. John's dropped to 2-7 and suffered their fourth straight loss.

St. John's Tom Michaelsen (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) starred for the Red Storm and tied the score at 4-4 on a great move from behind the goal to beat net minder Chris Rosa at 5:35 of the fourth quarter. That would set the stage for Seifert's winning tally and big saves by Rosa who stopped 20 of 24 shots on a dreary and rainy Saturday on the St. John's campus in Queens, NY.

The game saw five lead changes on the afternoon and no team had more than a one goal lead in the 60 minute standoff.

Jack Rosson (Severna Park, MD/Severn School) and Patrick Zeis (St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers ) added goals for St. John's in the loss. Seifert (two goals), Andrew Horton, Jon Paulson and Ryan Spitz also tallied scores in the contest.

The Red Storm return to action on Saturday, April 9th when they travel to UMass in Amherst, MA. Face off is set for 1 p.m.
