The Game Story:
Garden City, N.Y. - Stephen Mortimer notched two straight goals in the fourth quarter to pull Adelphi even with visiting C.W. Post at 11 before the Pioneers Tom Maloney picked up the game winner with 1:29 on the clock. The 12-11 loss drops Adelphi to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in the East Coast Conference, while the Pioneers improve to 8-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

The Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead early in the first quarter on goals from Jason Fietta, Mortimer and Ian Kuchta before C.W. Post got on the board. Marc Burton pushed Adelphi's lead back to three goals, 4-1, but the Pioneers got back-to-back goals from Matt Dimler and Matt Merritt before Fietta scored his second goal of the game to put the Panthers ahead 5-3 heading into the second quarter.

Mortimer opened the scoring in the second quarter, putting Adelphi ahead 6-3, however the Pioneers engineered four goals, while the Panthers could muster just one, leaving the game knotted at seven heading into the half.

C.W. Post reeled off three straight scores to open the second half and take a 10-7 lead with 5:17 left in the third. With 2:34 on the clock Mortimer sparked a 4-1 Panther run that would end with Mortimer's game tying goal at the 1:52 mark of the fourth quarter.

Adelphi's Drew Smith made 14 saves in the loss, while Nick Dello-Iacono picked up the win and 10 saves.

The Panthers return to action on April 28 when they travel to Oakdale, New York for a 1:00 pm meeting with Dowling.
