American International vs. Bentley

The Game Story:
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The American International College menís lacrosse team stayed right with the No. 5 Bentley Falcons despite losing 14-9 on Saturday afternoon. With the loss the Yellow Jackets drop to 2-9-0 overall and to 1-5-0 in the Northeast-10, while the Falcons improved to 5-1-0 on the season and to 4-0-0 in the conference.

Junior midfielder Dan MacIssac (Port Perry, Ont.) led the way for AIC with two goals and one assist for three points on the day. Freshman attackman Brett Serriello (Centerville, Mass.) also tallied three points, with one goal and two helpers.

Graduate student, midfielder Mike Szawlowski (Leeds, Mass.) buried two goals on the afternoon for the Yellow Jackets, while junior midfielder Aaron McNab (West Springfield, Mass.) recorded a goal and an assist. Junior attackman Travis Ortensi (South Hadley, Mass.), sophomore defenseman Nicholas Brett (Londen, N.H.), and freshman midfielder Justin Ortega (Woodhaven, N.Y.) each found the back of the net once for AIC.

Senior attackman Kevin Gould (Duxbury, Mass.) led the Falcons with eight points, including five goals and three assists, while sophomore attackman Brendan Grant (Walpole, Mass.) buried four goals, while adding an assist.

Sophomore netminder Eric Whettell (La Salla, Man.) played well between the pipes for AIC, turning aside 14 shots in the loss. Counterpart, senior Andy Collette (South Hadley, Mass.) stopped six shots in the win for Bentley.

The Yellow Jackets were outshot 46-24 on the day, but held the Falcons to 0-2 on man-up opportunities.

Next up, AIC plays host to conference rival Assumption on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
