American International vs. Le Moyne
March 9, 2014
The Game Story:
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.Although freshman attack John Magliano (Upton, Mass.) scored a late first quarter goal to tie the game 1-1, the American International College men's lacrosse team fell to the defending national champion Le Moyne Dolphins in AIC's conference opener by an 11-1 score. Magliano scored his first of the year to tie the game 1-1 at 13:27 of the first frame, but the Dolphins almost immediately struck back, getting what ended up as the winning tally at 14:03 of the period. From there, though AIC played well, Le Moyne shut them out, scoring three goals in each subsequent frame for the 11-1 final. Despite the 11 goals, junior goalkeeper Perry Booker (Windsor, Conn.) gave his team a chance to win, stopping 16 shots on target. Four of the goals the Dolphins netted were with an extra man, including once on a two-man advantage as AIC was guilty of eight penalties in the game. The Jackets return to action on March 11 at 5:00 p.m. as they take on the thirteenth-ranked Molloy Lions at Ronald J. Abdow Field.
