| SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College men's lacrosse team fell to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the Northeast-10 after dropping a 12-3 decision to 11th-ranked Saint Anselm College Tuesday night at Ronald J. Abdow Field. The Hawks improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the NE-10. Saint Anselm led 3-0 after one before freshman attack Bryce Serriello (Centerville, Mass.) opened the second quarter scoring to make to 3-1. The Hawks then scored four in a row to end the period, the final two of which came from sophomore attack Andrew Messner (Wakefield, R.I.), to take a 7-1 lead at the half. Serriello scored two of the first three goals to start the third quarter before Saint Anselm closed the game with a four goal run that spanned the third and fourth frames for the 12-3 final. Messner finished with two goals and three assists for a game-high five points, while freshman attack Geoff Kennedy (Gloucester, Mass.) scored three goals with one assist for a four-point game. Senior midfielder Tyler Steinetz (Sparta, N.J.) and sophomore midfielder James Mallinson (Middletown, R.I.) added two goals each. Junior Jonathon O'Reilly (Plano, Texas) recorded eight saves to improve to 4-1 in goal this season for the Hawks, while senior Eric Whettell (La Salle, Man.) fell to 0-5 despite a 15-save effort for AIC.
