The Game Story:
Ten Different Players Score as No. 9 Bentley Beats Franklin Pierce 14-6

Rindge, N.H. - Ten different players scored, led by junior attack Kevin Gould's (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) hat trick, as ninth-ranked Bentley University defeated Franklin Pierce 14-6 Wednesday afternoon in the Falcons' first Northeast-10 game of the season. Freshman attack Brendan Grant (Walpole, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) had two goals and four assists for a game-high six points.

The Falcons outscored Franklin Pierce 6-0 in the first quarter, and essentially put the game out of reach with a 5-1 advantage in the second quarter for an 11-1 halftime lead.

Bentley scored twice in the first 45 seconds of the first quarter. Gould scored 25 seconds in and Grant netted the first of his two 20 seconds later. Grant added his second tally 1:09 later.

Sophomore Dante Mancini (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) found the back of the net for the first this season to make it 4-0, and then Gould added his second of the game. Freshman James Gilloran (Guilford, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) tacked on a goal with 15 seconds remaining in the quarter for a 6-0 lead.

Gould, sophomore Troy Neville (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) and senior John Harding (North Andover, Mass./St. John's Prep) scored goals in the first 4:40 of the second quarter to make it 9-0, before Mike Haggerty finally put one in for Franklin Pierce.

The lead got to as big as 12 goals at 13-1 in the third quarter after senior Chris Woods (Duxbury, Mass./Sandwich) scored with 13:30 left.

Senior goalie Kris Dambach (Chester, N.J./West Morris Central) was called on to only make three saves in 30 minutes of action and earned the win. Sophomore Mike O'Neil (Marblehead, Mass./Marblehead) made a team-high four saves among the four goaltenders that saw action in 10-plus minutes.

The Falcons' record improves to 2-1 on the season.

Bentley returns to play on Saturday with a home game against Saint Michael's at 1:00 p.m.
