| WALTHAM, Mass. Sophomore Mike McDonald (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) scored three goals to lead No. 1 Le Moyne to an 18-3 win over Bentley in a Northeast-10 Conference mens lacrosse game at Bentley. The Dolphins (4-0, 1-0 Northeast-10) opened up a 9-1 lead at the half and led 16-1 after three quarters en route to their 61st consecutive Northeast-10 Conference win. McDonalds three goals pushed his team-leading total to 11 this season. Senior Jason Longo (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia), sophomore Brian Cost (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee), junior Matt Cassalia (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee), sophomore Andrew Carducci (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger), freshman Brian Welch (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) and senior Ryan Lewis (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) netted two goals each. Senior goalkeeper Jared Corcoran (Concord, N.H./Concord) stopped four of five Bentley shots on goal in three periods of action. The Dolphins led 4-0 after one quarter and pushed its lead to 5-0 on sophomore Brad Wolkens (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville) first goal of the season. Craig Cormier put Bentley (0-3, 0-1 Northeast-10) on the board midway through the second quarter with the Falcons only goal of the first 54 minutes. McDonald scored his three goals within the first three minutes of the second half to give the Dolphins a 12-1 edge with just over 12 minutes remaining. Four more Dolphins scored in the final 12 minutes of the quarter to give Le Moyne a comfortable 16-1 lead after three quarters. Le Moyne, ranked atop the USILA Division II poll, has won 61 consecutive Northeast-10 Conference mens lacrosse regular season games and 50 straight regular season games overall. The Dolphins meet Assumption in a rescheduled Northeast-10 Conference game on Sunday in Worcester, Mass. |
