| BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 25, 2012) – Senior midfielder Keith Rodriguez (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) scored four goals but it was not enough as No. 4 C.W. Post fell to No. 11 Seton Hill, 11-10, Saturday in an East Coast Conference match played on Hickox Field. C.W. Post drops to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the ECC while Seton Hill improves to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The Pioneers took a 2-0 lead in the first quarter with a pair of goals from senior attacker Doug Hoch (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) but the Griffins caught up with goals from Matt Delmonico and Dylan Lefebrve. The teams were locked at 3-3 at the end of the first. Seton Hill outscored C.W. Post 4-3 in the second quarter with a hat trick from Greg Chaples to take a 7-6 lead at the end of the half. The Pioneers came back in the third quarter with four goals from including two from Rodriguez to take a 10-9 lead heading into the fourth. The fourth quarter belonged to Seton Hill as it got a pair of goals from Kevin Cala at 11:49 and 7:09 to escape with the win. C.W. Post finished the game outshooting the Griffins, 46-29, and held a 33-21 advantage on ground balls. The Griffins were 4-6 on extra-man opportunities compared to the Pioneers' 3-6. Hoch finished with three goals while Patterson had five points on two goals and three assists. Junior midfielder Chris Ruhlig (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) added a goal in the second quarter. Seton Hill was led by Delmonico with four goals with three from Chaples and two from Cala. Lefebrve and Kevin Welty each had a goal in the game. C.W. Post returns to action on March 3 at home against Southern New Hampshire at 1 p.m. |
