The Game Story:
The Green Mountain College men's lacrosse team squandered a 6-4 halftime lead to St. Joseph's College of Maine, losing 15-7 in the North Atlantic conference season finale Thursday afternoon. The Eagle's finish the season with a 1-11 mark and 0-9 in NAC play while the Monks improve to 4-12, 2-7 and claim the final spot in the upcoming conference tournament.

The Monk's opened the scoring at the 11:34 mark of the first quarter when freshman Justin Horgan (Hingham, ME) tallied the first of his 4 goals. GMC battled back and drew level through an unassisted goal by senior Max Talsky (Hanover, NH). Talsky found the back of the net one more time in the 1st with 1:17 remaining when he converted on a feed from sophomore Eric Vigil (Marlborough, MA).

Leading 2-1 heading into the 2nd quarter, GMC scored a pair of unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead. St. Joseph's, however, were able to snatch 3 goals in the closing minutes sandwiched around another 2 GMC tallies sending the Eagles into the halftime interval with a 6-4 advantage.

After the break, however, it was all St. Joseph's. Following a GMC goal by Talsky, the Monks reeled of 7 unanswered. Paul Dolewa (Saco, ME), Jonathan Horgan (Hingham, MA) and Kody Peckham (West Gardiner, ME) each tallied a pair of goals in the quarter while Tokunbo Amosun (Gardiner, ME) dished 2 assists. The Monks out-shot the Eagles 23-6 in the quarter.

St. Joseph's tacked on 4 more goals in the third including 2 by Luke Lafreniere (Alton, NH) to seal the victory.

GMC's Max Talsky finished with 4 goals and an assist, running his final season tally to 39 goals and 10 assists. Christian Sapovits (West Chester, PA) and Tom Wheeler (Seattle, WA) rounded out the scoring for the Eagles with a goal each. Keith Drinkwine (Selkirk, NY) made 12 stops on the afternoon.

Paul Dolewa and Jonathan Horgan led the Monk's attack tally 4 goals each while Tokunbo Amosun finished with 4 assists. St. Joseph's net minder Don Gearan made 4 stops.
