| SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Sophomore Brandon Spillett (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) scored
three goals and assisted on another as top-ranked Le Moyne dealt Bentley its
first Northeast-10 Conference loss 15-2 at the Thomas Niland Athletic Complex.
The Dolphins (10-0, 8-0 Northeast-10) have won 38 consecutive league games and
sit alone atop the Northeast-10 Conference.
Spillett scored all three of his goals in the opening half as the Dolphins jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the first 30 minutes. Bob Tulowiecki (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) and Spillett tallied the only goals of the first quarter, but Le Moyne exploded for six tallies in the second 15 minutes. Senior midfielder Jason Brown (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) netted Le Moyne^Òs third goal of the game, Trevor Ames (Black River, N.Y./Carthage) scored the fourth and Spillett scored back-to-back goals to make it 6-0. Brothers Matt Holdridge (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham/Herkimer CC) and Dan Holdridge (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) scored the final goals of the half for Le Moyne. Freshman Ryan Lewis (Minoa, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) scored two of Le Moyne^Òs seven second-half goals. Adam Zurick (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) and Matt Parker (Waltham, Mass./Waltham) scored Bentley^Òs goals. The Dolphins outshot Bentley 57-29, won 15-of-21 faceoffs and collected ten more ground balls than the Falcons. Le Moyne travels to winless American International on Tuesday. |
