Le Moyne vs. Pace

The Game Story:
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Senior Jeff Sanford (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) scored four goals and assisted on another to lift Le Moyne to a 17-7 victory over Pace in the semifinals. The Dolphins (12-2) advance to Sunday's championship game against Bryant. The Bulldogs (11-6) cruised past Saint Anselm 14-3.

Pace jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the opening quarter, but Le Moyne rattled off 11 consecutive goals to clinch a spot in the conference title game for the third consecutive season. Sanford scored four consecutive times to turn a 4-4 tie into an 8-4 Le Moyne halftime lead.

The Dolphins piled on five more goals in the third and the nation's stingiest defense held Pace scoreless for nearly 37 minutes. Charlie Rizzuto (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem) snapped the Setters' scoring drought with a goal 1:49 into the final period.

Nine different Le Moyne players scored in the semifinal win. Ryan Spillett (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) tallied three goals, Corey Sullivan (LaFayette, N.Y./LaFayette), Trevor Ames (Black River, N.Y./Carthage) and Marty Moore (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) netted two each and Kyle Reichel (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse-Miona), Bob Tulowiecki (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park), Brent Disinski (Columbus, Ga./Horseheads) and Brandon Spillett (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) chipped in one each.

Junior goalkeeper Tom Kimble (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) stopped nine shots between the pipes for the Dolphins, while Adam Skiadas (Binghamton, N.Y./Binghamton) and Joe Cassano (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) combined to stop 23 for Pace.

In the second game, Kevin Barletta (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) and Jeff Raggi (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) scored three goals each to put No. 2 seed Bryant in the title game with a 14-3 win. The Bulldogs (11-5) jumped out to a 8-0 lead at the half and led 12-0 after three quarters.
