| SYRACUSE , N.Y. – Senior Brandon Spillett (Liverpool , N.Y./Liverpool) scored four goals to lead top-ranked Le Moyne to a 14-3 win over Saint Anselm in a Northeast-10 Conference men’s lacrosse game at the Niland Athletic Complex. The Dolphins (7-0, 7-0 Northeast-10) have opened the season with seven consecutive victories to run their win streak to 23 straight overall and 57 straight Northeast-10 Conference regular season games. Spillett put the Dolphins on the board 49 seconds into the contest and three times in the opening half as Le Moyne opened up a 7-1 lead at the half. He finished off a feed from defenseman Travis Tarr (Auburn , N.Y./Auburn) to put the Dolphins up 1-0. After a Ryan Lewis (Minoa, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) score and a Saint Anselm tally, Spillett put the hosts up 3-1. He made it 6-1 on another Tarr pass with 5:25 remaining in the first half. Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week Matt Holdridge (Syracuse , N.Y./Nottingham) scored three goals and senior midfielder Kyle Reichel (East Syracuse , N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) added two to join Spillett with multiple goals. Saint Anselm goalkeeper Andrew Roy (Westford , Mass. /Westford) sparkled between the pipes for the Hawks. He made 17 saves, including 11 in the opening half. Kevin Allwarden (Amherst , N.H./Souhegan), Steve Trocki (Braintree , Mass./B.C. High) and Mike McClain (Milton , Mass. /Milton) netted the goals for Saint Anselm. Le Moyne outshot the Hawks 42-15. Junior goalkeeper Jared Corcoran (Concord , N.H./Concord) made seven saves and allowed two goals, while Ryan Fennell (South Salem , N.Y./John Jay) finished the final 8:30 minutes. Saint Anselm returns to action on Sunday when the Hawks travel to Pace University . |
